Jack's Camp in Makgadikgadi, Botswana, is closing for a rebuild

Jack's Camp in the Makgadikgadi region of Botswana will be closing for a complete rebuild.

Jack's Camp will be rebuilt and luxuriously redecorated with a completely new look and feel. The camp is due to close for renovations on 1 October 2019 and is due to open in May 2020, just in time for the camps 25th anniversary.


The new camp will include 10 larger tented rooms, which will each feature a miniature natural history museum. Seven rooms will have twin queen size beds, and three will have extra length king size beds. Each room will have both indoor and outdoor showers as well as private plunge pools.

The dining tent will be enlarged, and the pool tent be redecorated and will feature a sundeck. There will also be a spa tent with spa treatments available. The new camp will make use of the latest "clean and green" Tesla solar battery technology, will will supply the entire camp's electricity.

During closure, guests will have to option of staying at Jack's Migration Camp, which will be situated near Camp Kalahari.
